This is because our definitions of diversity has been narrow (race, gender, ethnicity), limiting conceptualization and planning, even as our world changes rapidly. Studies show without equivocation that diversity is good for organizing, planning and managing. Without enough time to react, technology (especially the Internet), globalization and multi-culturalization have combined to forge a far less homogenous environment; leading individuation, specialization, increased complexity, if not crisis. If we understand the emergent meaning and intricacies of diversity, we can better manage individuation (relationships) multi-culturalization, globalization, organization complexity, crises and potential disasters.
